Winter may only be my second favourite season but it’s a truly magical one! This year, Andy and I got excited as soon as December hit. Orange hot chocolate and putting the Christmas tree up was the best start to the holidays!
My mum really spoilt us this year with a handmade advent calendar full of Benefit goodies, chocolate, and tiny whiskey bottles for the weekends! She also gave us a hamper full of treats that we’re still nibbling our way through!
The weekend before Christmas I went to a sleepover where we gorged on nachos, fajitas, chocolate fondue and snowball cocktails! I still can’t believe how quickly Christmas came around, I’m sure it’s been the best one so far!
On Christmas Eve, Andy and I went to midnight mass to sing carols and really get into the Christmas spirit. For the first time ever we woke up in our own home on Christmas Day, and later went to my parents’ house. My mum had decorated the table beautifully and as usual the food was amazing!
Andy got me the cosiest jumper for Christmas, which I shared in my most recent style inspiration post! I want to wear it every day!
The highlight of this holiday has to be our trip to Wales for New Year’s Eve! We booked a sweet, cosy cottage in Abbey-Cwmhir, that was surrounded by rolling hills and trees for miles.
Being in the middle of nowhere meant we had no signal and limited internet, which was surprisingly relaxing as I’m usually glued to my phone. Even so, we still made time for instagramming – we can’t completely give it up can we?
We ventured out into the wild, climbing hills and getting lost in the trees, which made me realise 2015 needs so many more adventures!
New Year’s Eve was so fun. We went all out with a photobooth and dressed up for the occasion – you can see my full outfit in my New Year’s Eve Style Inspiration post. We even had a surprise visit from the local cat – which is surely a lucky omen in some way?
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and an exciting New Year’s Eve. Let’s hope this year brings us everything we dream and hope for!
