I find events like weddings especially difficult to style for. It seems when you reach your mid-twenties, everyone is getting married. There are sweet hen parties and generally a feeling of pure joy, that someone you know and love will be announcing their love for a special someone. But what do you wear for something formal like a wedding, that still fits with your current style and other wardrobe pieces? After all, you don’t want to splurge on an outfit you’re only going to wear once – unless it’s your own wedding of course.
I love black, but other than my own future wedding, it doesn’t seem acceptable to have it as your main dress colour. So, I decided to go all out and wear a colour I love, that I’ll still feel comfortable in, and that is yellow. Mustard, to be more specific. It’s such a summery colour, and I’ve never met anyone that doesn’t suit it. I found this beautiful, flowing, mustard jumpsuit from Zara
and I felt so comfortable in it I wish I could wear jumpsuits every day. I want to keep the look a little 70s, so the brown sandals/shoe boots from Topshop were perfect – and are a smart choice for a day when you’ll be constantly on your feet. This is a perfectly summery look, and the Gypsy Dreams Geometric Bee Notebook
is the essence of summer for me. The blues of the sea and the clear cloudless sky, the sun peeking over the tops of city buildings, and the bee which we should be taking extra care of at the moment!
